Drowning

by Terry   Sep 11, 2007

I was drowning fast
And I couldn't see
But you jumped in
And rescued me.

You held me tight
Like an Angel from above
Showing me life's meaning
Of true love.

Your smile so warm
Your heart so true
Me holding you tight
Just lucky to have you.

You gave me highs
And I gave you lows
You tried to rescue me
Keeping me afloat.

I had it all
But pushed you away
That is my biggest regret
Is not being able to say stay.

I pushed you away
You had to let go
I understand, what happened
But I want you to know.

I love you with all of my heart
Regretting every step I made
Seeing you with someone else
Is the price I have to pay.

I have slipped into the water
Wishing you were here.
Screaming out for help
Reaching out, crying tears.

Will you remember me
I ask myself, as I go down
Wishing I made a difference
For you, in your life
As I drown.

This was beautiful. I can really relate to this. You have a way with words.
