My bottle

by Jaklynn   Sep 12, 2007

So, this is what you've done to me
After months of using and breaking me down
So the only thing i trust is my bottle
And now inside this Puerto Rican rum i drown

I don't know who the f**k she is
But anymore, I don't even know you
But my Puerto Rican rum will always love me
My bottle will always be true

I love my bottle above all else
And even in the morning I may regret
But I love him because he never fails me
Even for one night, he makes me forget

Graduation, prom, the rest of the memories
Disappear with the head games my bottles play
I sit and half hope that if i drink enough
All my memories of you will go away

I cringe at the bitter taste in my mouth
But it doesn't compare to the ache in my heart
Swig after swig burning down my throat
Is all that keeps me from falling apart

So I spend yet another night with my bottle
Even though i might regret it the next day
It gives me the strength to put on a smile
And make the world think everything's okay.
