You remain, near Me

by Arunansu   Sep 12, 2007

( This is a modified version of the earlier one.)

Your absence
hovers about.

An occupied humming bird
drones countless
hymns and fables.
Reminds me
of the vanished warmth,
just beside.

Life rattles on
with shriveled love.

Still your presence
heaves downhearted sighs,
on deserted seat.

The soft voice
remain preserved
in dehydrated roses
stuck between pages of
'A Knight in Shining Armor'.

I pick out your perfume
in synthetic nosegays,
even today.

Time has left
reminiscences in my care.
