To those left behind

I don't want to linger on
when i can't stand being here any longer,
after so many years of struggle my resolve has grown weak
where once it was so much stronger.

and i have so much remorse, things left undone,
and so many things i regret,
but i will fade away into nothing
and those who knew me will soon forget.

i no longer feel much of anything,
yet there's so much i want to say,
but ultimately in the end,
it doesn't matter anyway.

i hope those that i love can understand,
for it is beyond me now to explain,
i just couldn't go on existing
with a soul writhing in such agonizing pain.
