I do believe tonight I rest

by Ana   Sep 15, 2007

I do believe tonight I rest
Upon the place of which I knew
Test the waters of this time
Where all the guilt and sanity flew

I do believe tonight I rest
The past a haven to my night
In which it seems a tangled web
Escape and freedom out of sight

I do believe tonight I rest
The memories say it's bound to rise
And yet emotions boil and spill
For unfamiliar bonds and ties

I do believe tonight I rest
The scars tell me tomorrow's fought
Yet the distant conscious mind
Say war's end, it's surely not

I do believe tonight I rest
Your face aligned with Satan's smirk
I do believe I just woke up
A result of cold reality's lurk
