Mommys

As teenagers we don't realize or completely understand
the nearness of our mother's reaching, helping hand
they want us to be their little babies forever, but what she doesn't know
is that we are TEENAGERS, only wanting to grow
she tries to teach us so that we can someday be parents of our own
and do the things shes taught us
the things shes ever shown
but its sad to think we'll leave one day~just leave her all alone
because in her mind we will never be fully grown
right now it seems we will never learn
the reasons why shes so concerned
but now at age 13
she has seen more than i have ever seen
so its always good when she offers advice
and makes you think through things at least twice
my mother respects me for who I am
and doesn't make me feel like I have to dress myself up in sham
she is more than a mother but also a friend
a helping hand~she will always lend
she always has advice to spare
and stories of her past to share
she wants me to be the best I can be
she'll always know whats right for me
I always will appreciate her helpful caring ways
the special, thoughtful things she does
to brighten up the days
i never knew why she cared so much
but as we grow we understand
for now we look back and see
through older eyes and wiser hearts
her love and loyalty
I hope that now you all have learned
what I have always known
and that is that there is nothing like a mother
and no mother like your own
