It's Okay

by nering   Sep 20, 2007

Hate is strong and I am not,
forgive me, Lord, for feelings wrought.
An anger in my heart reserved.

Mom who's never filled her role,
these men she gave her heart and soul.
Affection gained and lost with ease;
stood like stone I couldn't please.

Six years in I met a man,
my father with a master plan.
He knew her lies and hateful ways
spared me on specific days.

He learned my heart and heartache.
He did things soley for my sake.
Five years more and he changed my life,
took me with him and his wife.

I'll never regret moving
I hear that woman is still losing.
She never learned to love her blood.
Never cared for fresh spring buds.

Life to her was just a game,
Nothing was worth it without gain.
She chased after hollow pleasures,
her children were not treasures.

People in all should chase dreams
but they must always tend the seams
and keep their family close at heart,
or like me, they'll pull apart.

* but in reality i found the perfect family*
