Ceaselessly

by Arunansu   Sep 24, 2007

[ Earlier written as "Burden in Love". This is a modified version.]

Raindrops kept pattering
the past.

Streams slithered down
a sodden lavender raincoat,
collected at the hem
as opulent drops.

Some precious little
moved stealthily
inside the cave of pockets.
A wingless letter inside
got dampened.

Tears strolled by
some emotive words.

The epistle drafted
months ago, notified me
there was no need
to endure
burden of a dried love,
any further.

Still
raindrops kept strumming
an old guitar.

Tunes, not too aged
went on
crooning sweet nothings,
ceaselessly.
