Today's Girl

by Marly   Sep 26, 2007

I face the fears of yesterday
As though they haunt me more today
They try to invade my perfect mind
But I stand strong and blow them away

My scars tell the story
Of the tears that used to fall
But today I am a new person
Today I grow tall

I am not a victim of hurt
But more a survivor or pain
To know I made it through harder times
Makes me stronger in so many ways

To know that I, shall begin to write
This new chapter in my book
Makes the tragedies of my past
Become easier to over look

For today I stand before this world
And smile at myself when I see
That after so long I've finally found
The girl I've always wanted to be
