Broken Angel Part 15

by Poes Raven   Sep 28, 2007

I drove around for hours, not sure where to look but not wanting to give up. The city stretched before me twisting like a maze. I drove thru every street I could looking for her. I watched the sidewalks, stores, even other cars as they passed. I had to know she was okay. I had been searching all night. The sun was slowly starting to break thru the dark sky. I pulled into a park at the heart of the city. She was gone. I had no idea where else to look. This was the last place. I got out of my car and stretched my arms while looking around. On a park bench facing the east I saw a figure sitting there. I stopped and stared. It was her. I cursed myself for not looking here first. Walking to the bench I sat down next to her not saying a word. She sat there staring forward in silence. her eyes red from crying. We sat there next to each other for what seemed like ages. She finally let out a sigh and leaned against me resting her head on my shoulder. I placed my arm around her.
