His mind I read from his lips.

by Amy Jo   Oct 2, 2007

The words he said
His lips I read
As he pulled out of the drive
And we said our final goodbye.
Forget his face, I may
But the fire in his eyes that day
will give him away in a crowd,
and his voice isn't that loud.
The tears built in my eyes,
some say that's why the soul dies
When true love is lost,
and valued relationships are tossed
I still love him its true
But in my heart he does too
Fate may bring us back again
If not just for an old friend
Its true our fire burnt out
But to find no spark is a doubt
Don't know if I could try
to learn what is meant by goodbye.
