Life After Surgery.

by Brittany   Oct 3, 2007

Living in a world of your own,
Never felt this kind of alone.
People come to visit everyday,
But you're so tired; you wish them away.
Try to sleep but you just won't fall,
Starting to regret it all.
Trying desperately to eat,
Every few moments, having to take a seat.
You are weak and often faint,
But going through without complaint.
You want to cry and are brokenhearted,
Feels like forever since this endeavour started.
There's a long way to go yet; you only think you're ready,
But you have no choice, so you try to go steady.
Everyone sends their best wishes and says get well,
But none of them have entered this hell.
Just try to smile kid and do your best,
It'll all be over soon and you'll forget the rest.

Wow, I've never been in a situation like that, and am thankful I haven't. This poem really shows the emotions felt while writing it. This really is a great piece of art. Keep up the good work =)
