My Autumn Afternoons

by Arunansu   Oct 9, 2007

[ Originally written as "Totally Internally Reflected", this is a modified version.]

My autumn afternoons
get crowded with you,
and your fading away.

As the clouds dry up their tears
shadows drift;
the vestiges left behind
sparkle on grass tips
making my thoughts grow older.

I recall asking you
"Why prefer diamonds only
to fit in your engagement ring?"

You had reasoned
"our obstinate passion
will be flashing back in unison
as this; love will be getting
totally
internally
reflected".

Yet my seasons lost you.

The green turned auburn
in the valley.

The green turned auburn,
along with your visions
and missing words
getting totally
internally
reflected.
