Blood

by Lauren   Oct 11, 2007

They say blood is thicker
than water. But if this is
true why does it seem that
more often than not it is your
friends who have your back and
not your family.
They say blood is the tie that
binds. But why then do those
who share a blood tie turn their
back on those they "love".
The blood boils over and
bursts forth in rage.
Unstoppable wrath caused by
a scorned family member.
And yet friends cut the
deepest. Driving the dagger
of treachery deeper than any
family member could bear to
do. They drive deep and slow
making sure the wound
made can never fully heal
or, they open old wounds and
make my life pure hell.
They joke and mock.
But yet, when i strike back
it is like it's my own damn fault
that they treat me like they do.
