If Only...

by Hanna   Oct 11, 2007

Your presence, I feel it,
Heart skips a beat with heavy steps,
Cross my path...but why don't you see me?
Invisible to your eye,
I am merely a stranger; you do not acknowledge that I am near,

This body you will never hold,
These fingertips, denied your touch,
I glance your way, but it's not returned,
Ignorance is bliss? You ignore yet I sink into misery,
Free me from this darkness, oh cruel knight, rescue me,
Stuck in another's trap, I hurt, help cries from my eyes
But you just turn your head away,
You don't see, you will never know.
I fear your rejection, yet I lust for your embrace,
To hear your voice, hot breath upon my skin,
A kiss to spare the tears,

You take notice, you criticise,
I'm left rooted, no words able to escape,
Even harsh words can not rid my thoughts of you.

You walk my way, and as you pass,
I whisper softly...
"If only...."
