Babe, I'm sorry

by Resplendant Rose   Oct 14, 2007

She stares at him in disbelief
how could he be so cruel?
but why did she heed his lies?
why was she such a fool?

Suspicions abound for weeks now
yet she always believed those lies
when he said he'd just been busy,
or hanging with the guys

Silent tears blurring her vision,
she slowly meets his gaze
in shock he watches her go
and hopeless, he just stays

With a start, she wakes to ringing
she picks up her phone
"Babe, I'm sorry please come home"
then all he hears is dial tone
