One True Power

"Come on Beth, you will be late,"
Rose said just as the clock struck eight.
"All right, All right, I'm on my way,"
The young girl, Beth, quickly did say.

Rose, her friend, morally sound
wanted Beth's life to be found.
For Beth was shaky, so naive
and everything she would believe.

Anyways, they left the home
with friends. The streets they just did roam.
Before Rose knew it, Beth was Gone!
A chill rose up. Her breath was drawn.

Hoping for the best, she prayed
and in the streets all night she stayed.
Until one moment, her heart plain sunk.
She had seen Beth, torn up and drunk.

She ran to Beth with open arms
and saw right then, she was in harm.
The drinks Beth took had changed her views.
Rose's sickly feeling grew.

Rose then saw her own looming danger.
A knife was held by this dear stranger.
Rose talked to Beth - a calming tone,
"I'm here to help. You're not alone."

Beth only gave an evil stare
acting like she did not care.
"ONE!" Beth said, almost with fun
this morbid game had just begun.

"TWO!" she said, closer she got.
Death was the only thing Beth thought.
And with raised hand, Rose on her knees,
Beth screamed and yelled the number "THREE!"

Crimson blood rolled down Rose's side
Rose looked at Beth then silently cried.
For Beth did not know what she did.
The drunken world is where she slid.

Rose did not cry for herself alone.
For Beth she cried: "if she'd only known!"
The last thought from Rose in mind
was "I hope Christ is who Beth finds!"

And with that thought Rose slid too deep
Into an eternal, calming sleep.
An angel seemed to hear Rose's thought
from the drunk world Beth was brought

Realization hit her fast!
What had she done in minutes past?
She wept for Rose and for her pain
Rose's life - ended in vain.

Beth couldn't live with what she'd done
and then started counting the number "ONE!"
the knife had to be used again.
Her life had to be ended right now... right then.

But suddenly an angel of beauty came
she looked like Rose - oh JUST the same!
The angel said, "Rose, please think twice
to kill yourself... oh WHAT a price!"

"But i killed my friend - YOU! YOU'RE DEAD!
I'd rather i be killed instead!"
"Beth, Please for me...Please don't you think
you make mistakes - you took some drinks.

You're consequence, all though extreme
was meant so that you'd live a dream...
...a dream God has for you to do...
...to spread HIS word - to change life's views!"

Beth was confused, yet understood.
She'd live God's dream the best she could.
Through everyday and every hour.
She vowed allegiance to the ONE TRUE power.
