Tortured Soul

Tortured Soul

I’m weighed down by a tortured soul
Reprieve, I’ve missed, each blow by blow
A depth to it, ensnared by snakes
Keeping rescue far away
Silent sounds of moans within
None can hear; None let in
I know the truth that sets me free
But darkness takes a hold of me
Encased in darkness; lies on lies
My bright and loving soul survives.
The dark is thick and tangled so
My soul is stronger, brighter though
But even with it strong and bright
The darkness sinks it; grasps it tight
Down it goes, but bright shines still
Resilience in this evil thrill
But how far down til no one sees?
How far down til dark is me?

I love this! An incredible write with amazing flow, and a dark relatable feel throughout. Well done! That last line gave me chills...whew.

Absolutely excellent! So real and yet with glimmers of hope still. The last line is perfect, and I bet we all have that dark, deep down.
    Love it! :-)
