Reminders

My pillow wet from tears
Because of the reminders
That come along
After so many years

Bad memories
i try to erase
But the sadness and pain
Starts to follow and chase

Smiles hide my tears
Nobody can wash away all my fears
Days fly by
Nights go slow

In my dreams
You make my pain and suffering grow
Nightmares each night
All these memories I'm trying to fight

If only i was strong enough
To put it all behind me
But no
These nightmares just keep reminding me!

    Interesting poem, you wrote it nicely but if you use some metaphors it would be a lot better and atmosphere could be much deeper with better choice of words.
    Anyway, that is just my opinion.

    Really nice dark poem, you highlight how our past always comes back to prey on our minds.

    One thing I really like about this poem is the rhyme structure - I like how the rhyming lines move about in each stanza. Very unique and adds a nice twist to it.
