Losing What Mattered Most

by Chris Spangler   Oct 28, 2007

Take a walk with me down memory lane,
as far back as i remember.
Dim lit dinners, a soothing massage
I'll never forget November.

She did this thing, i can't quite explain,
had me warm inside, love is to blame.
The best things in life are free.
I'll never feel the same.

Until the day she said goodbye,
I only thought for a few days.
Struck and killed by an erratic driver,
Time to reconsider my thoughts and ways.

I remember staying up for two days straight,
somber thoughts clouded my mind.
I'll never forget how we met that day,
standing in the long line.

I cried myself to sleep,
and still occasionally do.
I forgive you but I'm still upset,
I wanted to marry you.

Pictures tell the story of it all,
the short time we spent together.
Through the hard times, mostly good times,
our spirits bonded together.

You will always be a part of me,
Your heart to i will surrender.
I lost my best friend, my lover,
I'll never forget November
