Family Politics.

by Antithesis   Oct 31, 2007

You told me a tale of politics
Regarding businesses and such
And international relations
How display of power takes guts

You told me how you played it
A better title for him you buy
When you're demoting him in reality
You told me with such pride

You sure do play it well
You played it as your life
This family you treated as
A pathetic game to parade your might

You played us like you did at work
Awarding us with titles sought
An empty noun that's void of meaning
A status label that means naught

But we are mere inferiors under you
Puppets under your control
A single movement of your finger
Will make us stumble and fall

You sure do play it well
You played it as your life
This family you treated as
A pathetic game to parade your might
