Brand New Child

by x Mo x   Nov 1, 2007

As fragile as porcelain.
As limp as cotton.
As soft as silk.

So innocent.
So pure and clean.
Most glorious baby
I've ever seen.

Eyes as blue as the sky.
Lips as red as the roses.
Hair as dark as night.

Softly cooing.
Gently dreaming.
Powerful lungs
Made for screaming.

A smile as sweet as sugar.
A nose as round as a button.
A smile as bright as the sun.

A brand new child
Ready for life.
Straight from paradise,
To the world's strife.

So soft,
So pure,
So sweet,
So beautiful.
So innocently wonderful.

Angelic features
Perfect in every way.
I thank God for angels
As I see him every day.

~Dedicated to my new little brother Derek Edward, born 10-03-07~

Congrats... great poem, you described babies exactly as they are, to be honest they are probably the only thing in the world that makes everything right
