INSECURITIES

by Grace Delight   Nov 1, 2007

I cover myself not because I am shy
but because I am afraid of what you will see

I cover myself not because I am hesitant
but because I am afraid of what could happen once I am let loose

I cover myself not because I am cold
but because I am afraid of what the heat of your touch will do to me

I cover myself not because I am better
but because I am afraid that I will not be what you had dreamed of

yet what I do expose of myself I hope you cherish
every smile
every frown
every laugh
every cry
every time I run into your arms and hold on tight

physically I know I expose little
but in other ways I am an open book
