Children play with dolls and toys
The girls are chased by the troublesome boys
Living without a care in their minds
But all this fun subsides after time
The children grow older and are told what to say
Leaving absolutely no time to play
The dolls sit on the shelf, collecting dust
The toys cars are left in the backyard to rust
These childish items are no longer needed
In the eyes of the children who have now succeeded
But the dolls wait for their pretty young girls
To dress them up and play with their curls
And trucks anxiously wait for their boys to come home
So they won't have to go on an adventure alone
While the teddy bears sit with the ponies and cats
For the children to play with their silly little hats
The fun that we had during those days past
Was something that was just too good to last
As we look at these toys, we wish that we could
Be children again, and play as we should
