Titanic

by Juliet   Nov 4, 2007

This could be
The end of
A new hope

A new liner
Created for
Giving joy
To the greedy
But it taught me
Something so much more
It brought me you
Showed me the truth
To my life

Felt like
I never would belong
But you took my hand
And shook it
And then we were gone

Showed me the way that
The stars shined so bright
The way that the ocean's sound
Could keep you up all night
But not with worry
Nor sickness
Or despair
But the joy
and the peace
That it brings to the air

Told me that I
Had a place in the world
That I could decide it
Not any other girl

So despite the rules
Of society
We became friends
The poor and the rich
Walking
Hand and hand
Learning the joys of life
As we walked along
Not knowing that soon enough
The ship would fall

So as the ship sank to the ground
We watched together
We held on to the things we learned
Despite the despair

Know this journey
Is one
I’ll never forget
Its full of memories of me and you
And the friendship we shared
