Though I May Be Young...

by abcede   Nov 5, 2007

Though I may be young
and innocent in self
I know when I am broken
I know when nothing's left

Though I may be young
I understand depression
This is not fakery or jest
This is my real confession.

Though I may be young
I've felt the lover's stake
yet truly is by my own hand;
a searching, scared mistake.

Though I may be young
I, too, can hurt Him thus,
and blame it all upon myself
while losing my self trust.

Though I may be young
I know what I have felt -
the burdened, damned hand
of the cards that I've been dealt.

Though I may be young
and confusion, least, may be
I'm maturely blinded by my fate -
my path...I cannot see.
