Alone

Now there's no one home when I get off from work.
No one to ease my pain, so now I'm always hurt.
No one to cuddle with and hold at night when I'm asleep.
No one to give this ring to....no more promises to keep.
No one to spend my time with except the fellas.
Now I walk in the rain with no umbrella.
Now I can't stare into those eyes and tell her how I feel.
When she left, it's as if time itself stood still.
Now when I'm having problems, there's no one there to care.
Now I'm never at home because never again will she be there.
She killed my heart and she knows it too.
Now I throw flowers in the trash because there's no one there to give roses to.
There's no one there I can hold in these arms.
Now there's no one I can protect from harm.
No one for me to plan romantic dinners.
No one to keep me warm during the winter.
If anyone sees a guy on the beach watching the sunset alone, you'll know it's me.
Because now all I have is the readers of my poetry.
