Mrs. Eddy

To fit in this world,
I must do what you ask.
I must think like you,
And act like you.

You teach me things
I don't believe in.
You talk about things
You don't understand.

You may be older,
But you're still naive.
You judge and stereotype and
It's time for you to learn you're wrong.

You are close-minded.
Everything is black and white.
I am always wrong because
It's not what you want to hear.

You say my thoughts and beliefs
Are no different than each other.
But I am open-minded, and I
Have beliefs and thoughts far
More complex than your own.

To be right, we must learn to
Conform. We must believe that
We are wrong, and I would
Rather die a thousand deaths
Than be right by your standards.
