End of the Road

by ihrtschlepper   Nov 6, 2007

Footsteps in the sand,
Washed away by waves.
A sharing of the sunset,
Kept so whole and dear.
Memories of the nights,
Tossing and turning in vain.
Trying to survive the day,
But never succeeding.
A love so strong,
Is now gone away.
A pain so deep,
Always here to stay.
A heart full of shame,
Wonderings of who’s to blame.
An ache in the chest,
Never quite leaves.
Memories of him,
Of how it was before,
A longing
Felt oh so deep
A cold set in to stay,
For no matter how much
It is wanted,
He is gone,
Forever.
The end of the road greets me
As I fall down to cry.
