One step at a time

Taking one step at a time,
Holding on to my heart so it won't collapse.
Today I will smile,
Tomorrow I'll cry,
But today is what counts.

The flowers blossom,
The wind sends refreshing to my doubt.
I'll hold on tight to that beautiful memory,
And let my tears dry.

One step at a time.
One word for one thought.
I'll say my feelings,
Even if they are wrong.
I'll stand strong
Even if I fall.

The sun shines upon me
licking my skin warm,
And touches my soul's mind.
And when the night comes
Dreams will feed my thoughts.

Today I'll smile,
Tomorrow I'll cry,
Today I'll give my heart
What is has wanted for so long.
And tomorrow....I'm not sure why,
But I think it will be alright.

    Ugh this is such an awesome poem. If this is about someone they need to read it. For me it conjures feelings of acceptance and happiness with my best friend even though thats all the want to be and no longer my lover. Whatever it personally meant for you but the message was well expressed and was realistic while still optimistic. I like how you said today i will smile and tomorrow i will cry. and in the end everything will be alright some how. Ive learned that everything will be ok in the end if you believe and if you want to make it through, prayer will get you there. keep living and writing, i hope all is well on the roads ahead of you.
