Good bye

I thought
and thought
And I decided I need to say good bye.
With a smile on my face,
and hurt in my heart,
I said good bye to everyone
and no one knew any different,
Until I came to you.
I told you I wanted a hug,
And with soft innocence in my voice
I said good bye.
I started to cry
Even though you know me the best,
You had never seen me cry,
or even so emotional.
So you knew something was up.
When you asked
with great compassion,
I couldnt even look you in the eye.
It hurt so much to see your face,
with so much worry and wonder.
I didnt know what to say
except...
I love you
but i have to go
