Depression

Depression is nothing to a girl with no hope

When rejection
Is all she’s ever known
And loneliness is her best friend

When every day
She is battered,
And bruised

Left to suffer on her own

No one to hear her cries,
Hear her calling out for help

The best days of her life
Are when she’s merely depressed
A feeling that never comes alone

Instead of suicidal
A feeling that she knows all too well
