Bleeding City

by brie kelly wise   Nov 23, 2007

We all grew up here
Our birth carves a mark in our minds
As we travel to the dark side
But this city covered in blood
Coats our warm bodies
As we gaze upon these buildings
We know who's sleeping inside
They dream of the day as we fall
Into their arms and their crying eyes

Don't fall for them when there's nothing left
We can cut a new path and start new
And walk on a sidewalk without those painful words
The wet cement can dry on it's own
And the cracks will fill so
Don't worry the blame is off of these shoulders
That bear the coats of this Bleeding City
