Blink

by resisting reason   Nov 28, 2007

Walking down the street
the middle of the road
people on both sides
but still completely alone
look straight ahead, and there's nothing to be seen
except for the people, who don't have any names
but blink
and everything bursts into flames
the nameless faces, start to blister and swell
but they don't scream or yell
they just keep walking
and talking
amongst themselves
glance to the left
and the world is on fire
everything is dead
as the flames climb higher
it turns to ash
and it a flash
its gone
everything is calm
so i walk down the street
the middle of the road
completely alone
but then i blink
and hear their crys
i see their faces
and look into their eyes
they're in pain
they're being raped
by men who have stolen my face
they can't escape
but then i blink
and it all goes away
so i walk down the street
the middle of the road
completely alone
except for the nameless faces on either side

God that is amazing. you really showed the fear and chaos. you showed how everything can change so fast and yet no one else will ever know. very nice.
