Does Anybody Hear Her?

by JustKristina   Nov 29, 2007

She is running,
A hundred miles an hour.
In the wrong direction.

She is trying,
But the cannon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart.

So she sets out
on another misadventure
Just to find,

She's another two years older
And she's three
more years behind.

Does anybody hear her?
Can anybody see?
Does anybody even know she's going down today?

Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hopes thats tucked away

She is yearning,
For the shelter and affection
That she never found at home

She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day

And in walks her prince charming
And he knows
just what to say

Momentary laps of reason
and she gives herself away

Does anybody hear her?
Can anybody see?
Does anybody know she going down today?

Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hopes thats tucked away

He is running...
A hundred miles an hour...
In the wrong direction...

((Not mine. These are they lyrics of the Casting Crowns song "Does Anybody Hear Her...))

This is a nice poem. It's well written, keep it up!!

  • Well this poem was sad, yet very beautiful. The flow fit just right and it was very well written. The emotion was very powerful, but the imagery was a bit off. Good job though!
