Hostage

by brie kelly wise   Dec 14, 2007

We bind together at the head
As we push our decision into bed
There's not much to do with no hope
And our hands tied together by a rope
I pushed that thought slightly out of my mind
But it came back right up my spine
Go ahead, tell me all you used to say
But no matter what it'll never be okay

Where's all the guilt in this
You've been charged for numerous accounts
I'll pay you all the love in the world
Just let me go tonight and I won't tell a soul

I lost my witness and I lost my affection
Point the knife in your direction
And make sure your hands are clean
Before you go touching the city
The chances slipped through
We can only pray for your departure soon
The nearest chapel is miles away
And you've proved the road can lead to many mistakes

Your fingers tremble as you call your father
You know he'll be ashamed so why even bother
There's something left to tell him
And hurry before the light of the trap goes dim
Your head falls to the pillow, your thoughts hit the floor
Here comes the life we've all been waiting for
Here's your chance to prove your tracks aren';t stained
No more following, here goes to your moment of fame
