The Definition of the word "PROMISE"

by jLegendc   Dec 14, 2007

Every now and then,
THere are things we don't intend,
Especially as men, sometimes women,
We make mistakes all the time,
If there's a rating for it,
It would be 9 out of 10...

Does the word "PROMISE" ring a bell?
This word is the biggest sell,
Promises are always said,
But actions are not made,
Everybody uses it,
One word but such a threat...

Even government officials makes promises,
"Change the word, help the poor" he or she says,
I don't know why we all say this word,
Is it just our instinct that saying "I promise" can't be ignored?

It's like a drug that we need,
We say it to feed,
The ears of a desperate human being,
Because we all know that promises has a big meaning...

I'll give you the definition of the word "PROMISE,"
So it would seize to exist,
A promise is nothing but a thoughtless lie,
To be said as a flawless way to satisfy,
The existence of one's insecurity or curiousity....
