Sinking Friendship

by NiGhTpRiNcEsS   Dec 14, 2007

Walking alone through endless roads
Stuck, lost because you're not there
I throw my hand but it doesn't reach yours
You're so far away and this is really unfair

Do you remember how we used to talk
About boys with no brain and funny walks
About our future, careers and summer days
Skipping school on hot shining Mays

What happened to the 2am phone calls
To sleeping parties, hanging in malls?
What happened to best friends forever
Hand in hand, going through life together?

You met a boy who stole your mind,
Took you away convinced that you'll find
Another friend who's better than me
More sophisticated, funny and kind.

I didn't fight and just let you go
Persuaded that you'll come back, that you'll know
That best friends are hard to find and once they show
It's really hard to let them go.

Do you remember when we made a pact
You and I are sisters and this is a fact
We promised no force will break us up
That you're stuck with me and I'm stuck with you

What happened to the last words you told me
"I love you, my best friend you'll always be"
I guess that was all just a bunch of lies
Just like your smile and touching eyes!

I'm always there and I'll never leave you
When you need me, I'll go find you
Because our friendship is a value I cherish
Like running water in the driest desert.
