The Effort You Put In

by Purple   Dec 17, 2007

You show me how much you care
With the way you say my name
You show me how much you care
When you always react the same

You show me how much you care
With the words you choose to say
You show me how much you care
With the games you choose to play

You show me how much you care
With the effort you put in
Quietly I understand
With the thoughts you let me spin

Holes in effort rip apart
Great friendship slowly built
Holes in effort let friendships fall apart
Without any corporate feeling guilt

You let no rips take place
You show me how much you care
You put in constant effort
That's why our friendship's there

These words can go both ways
They can prove how much you lack
Some times little moments mean a lot
And those failed moments can't come back

You show me how much you care
With the effort you (lack to) put in
You show me why I should value you
Why you deserve to be my friend.

I appreciate all the work
I want you to know how much I care
Some times I can't deny
That I simply love it when you're there

I miss you when you're far away
But you've proven to me still
The effort's still willingly there
My belief in you is impossible to kill

You show me how much you care
With the way you treat our problems
You show me how much you care
With the way you check we've solved them

You show me how much you care
With the effort you put in
You show me why I should treasure you
Why you deserve to be my friend.
