Nothing Without His Friendship

by Painted on Smile   Dec 17, 2007

One last tear rolls down a damp cheek
with a tight chest it is hard to breath
a friend enters the room
moments later his smell engulfs me
ad the warmth of his sweatshirt enfolds my torso
that wondrous essence and welcoming warmth sooth my soul
the comfort of his friendship wraps around me
holding back the tears
loosening my chest
and lightening the weight on my shoulders
he has the power to do so much
with such a simple gesture
since the moment that we met
he has been my angel
"who lifts me to my feet
when my wings have trouble
remembering how to fly"
he has always been there
waiting with open arms
or a warm jacket
whenever i need it
for he is an amazing boy
and i would be nothing
without his friendship
