Hearts and hope intertwined tonight

by Samantha lynn   Dec 17, 2007

Eyes left to wander
Over distant coastlines
Silently searching stars,
And waiting for a sign.

Your words echo
In a corner of my heart
Edging away at the pain,
The guilt, of when it was broken
And shattered apart.

Late at night when the world sleeps
I sit in hopeless wonder
Listening to my racing heart
And realize this spell I'm under.

When did I wake from reality,
And fumble into a dream?
Where Cupid's arrows have no power
Over words you utter
In soft ringing truths to me.

And my mind meets my heart
When I start to realize
That I'm just about to fall
And be lost to your soulful eyes.

All that's left is the solemn chance
Of taking your hand
Then maybe you and I
Will touch fingertips to shaking hips
As fate seems to have in her plan.
