Race for Love

by rrrrrrr   Dec 18, 2007

Getting stretched and ready for this race,
Smiling and looking tall.
Your evil princess, she ties my laces,
And on my face I fall.

This wouldn't be the first time,
We've competed for your love.
I'll attack her confidence with my rhyme,
But she'll still have the hand above.

Your hero's got wings and she can fly,
While I slip around the bends.
Passing us all, she's soaring by,
And this cycle never ends.

I can't keep up forever,
Cause my legs, they aren't that strong.
My heart and feet are weathered,
And this race - It's way too long.

Jumping hurdles just to get to you,
But is it really worth this pain?
Like fighting lions in a zoo,
I'll never do this again.

But let's just keep this between you and I,
I've laid some booby traps.
And when she's stuck and starts to cry,
I'll be gaining laps.

One last turn to go,
And I'm drained of all my hope.
Man, I run so slow,
And she's about to reach that rope.

So forgive me if I fall behind,
The "Finish" she has crossed.
But it seems as if you've made your mind,
And in this race, I think I've lost.

Votes and comments please, I promise I'll return them!
