Monstrum in Animo.

by Phantasmagoria   Dec 20, 2007

The actors, the stage
pure enmity rising from
their masks made of coy

vitriolic tongues,
sharp, tearing through the fragments
of a long dead past

children of the Gods;
eyes full of sagacity
the knowledge fragile,

they sink to silence
and dwell on their virulent
voices deep within

pulled from their roots by
falsehood passed through ancestors
of the scorching light

passed through truth to face
the double-edged sword named life,
devour themselves

they are ravished by
their own decayed reflections --
they're only human

they are only us.
In monstrum in fronte,
in monstrum in animo.

Note: First of all, this is a haiku poem, so sorry if some of it doesn't make sense. Also, the title and last two lines are in latin, and they mean "A monster in face, a monster in soul." And yeah, its about humanity. Habah!!AH!
