Wishing it Would Never End

by Painted on Smile   Dec 21, 2007

As it slowed to a softened beat
music flowed through slow movement
a ribbon winding its way around dancing teens
those big, dark eyes entrance mine
open arms welcome me with warm embrace
as one we slowly move
he whispers sweet words making my heart skip
and butterflies overwhelm my stomach
with a few quiet words in return
he holds me closer to himself and his heart
resting his head against mine
smiles light up both faces as the room brightens
the music dims into nothingness
and with a quick squeeze we step away
wishing that moment hadn't had to end
