Life of a Gladiator

by Poetic Ninja aka Papachopchop   Dec 23, 2007

I was found on the streets,
Looking almost half dead,
I was picked up by merchants,
Who messed with my head.

They put me in chains,
And taught me to fight,
They said learn well,
Or I won't survive the night.

They gave me a sword,
And with it a shield,
I learned how to use them,
And never to yield.

I strapped on my armor,
To the arena I shall go,
To I fight for my life,
And put on a show.

What lies beyond that gate,
I would rather not know,
For I was sold into the life,
Of a gladiator.

and wow, this one makes me sad. It makes me want to help you fight for it. But sometimes you have to do it on your own.
