The Movies.

by babblingxbrooke   Dec 23, 2007

Sitting in the theater chairs,
for the scary movie, we have to wait.
and I know what you are all thinking,
but no this is NOT a date.

just two friends,
anticipating for the movie to start.
but one of them has different intentions,
in the depths of her heart.

she wants what she can't have,
and it kills her inside.
to know all she wants,
is sitting right at her side.

the lights dim,
and the movie is about to show.
she doesn't like scary movies,
but she didn't want him to know.

she was too distracted by her thoughts,
to cover her eyes and hide.
even though that's all she wanted;
to have an excuse to cling at his side.

what had her more scared then the movie,
was the thought of making that move.
she had little confidence,
and the rest she couldn't bare to lose.

the movie ended and all that crossed her mind,
was getting pictures taken in the photobooth.
not just to look back on the memories,
but to be close to him, yes that's the truth.

before she could say a word,
the booth, he stepped inside.
and she followed him,
there they sat, side by side.

each shot they gave a silly face,
each one something new.
as her heart beat a mile a minute,
she didn't know what to do.

they took their pictures and walked outside,
she knew this was the end.
they would say their goodbyes and walkaway,
and in the end still be friends.

that's exactly what happened that night,
it was her chance, and she was too late.
to make the night turn out to be,
her perfect and ideal date.

I can't tell you how many times that's happened to me. Haha. That nervous, anxious, panicky feeling. Sometimes things just happen for a reason. I like the way you write, all I can say is that it is original, and has a really nice flow.
