If the universe reversed

by Emily   Dec 24, 2007

Well what if the universe decides
to one day quit expanding
and the poles decided to reverse
And change their course and planning

At hyper speed, it reduces,
And becomes smaller everyday
Fear and panic on the people
Lost without their way

Then we are reduced to nothing
Not even conscience of the black
Lives are swallowed whole
No signal of the wreck

Nothing, not a single thing
How infinite and unkind
Nothing, not anything
Can compare to such a find.

Unchangeable, untouchable
Undetected, unrevised
Prequel, Sequel,
Perfect and unrehearsed.

Nothingness needs no proof
There is nothing to even show
Never again will there be a soul
No debris to evolve and grow

That nothingness, that absence
Ignored by blight and time,
Is the only thing I'm sure of
Is by far the most divine
Something.

_____
If I think about the greatest thing in the world
The only thing I can ever be sure of
It's not a god of any kind
It's not a person or a thing.
It's nothing.
