The Love In Our Hearts

by Soulful Ensemble   Dec 28, 2007

The love in our hearts, it says hello and asks, "Please?"
If its ignored, It'll go on, and never leave.
For leaving is a heartache and a pain for me--
How can people live unhappy and free?
I need someone to own me.

The love in our hearts, it says "goodbye" and flees,
If anybody noticed, the dark clouds now cover me.
The thunder casts its fear, and it will never leave,
Because our empty hearts are now free;
Free to suffer and out of glee.

The love in our hearts asks, "who will love me?"
"I need a soft caress, too, and maybe a kiss."
"Why is it always too dark and rainy to see?"
In the distance, approaching, is a fierce cat's hiss.

The love in our hearts sometimes has no out,
But it needs some air and space to shout,
To put smiles on people's faces,
And save drowning souls in many cases.

The love in our hearts can take no break;
The director is angry and gives no second takes.
For wasting ourselves away like fakes,
We're slipping carelessly into the fiery lake.

The love in our hearts is strong,
But it can seem so weak.
So take care of all your songs,
You'll be singing them for us all week.
