I Missed My Mate At The Rose Parade

by Soulful Ensemble   Dec 28, 2007

I miss her hair, you know, its fair,
But what isn't is my heart's despair.
Why should I pace about and wait
For some dead weight to be my bait?

I used to have all sorts of traits,
Everybody thought me great.
But when I lost my heart's mate,
I couldn't keep my mind straight.

Whats going on in there,
That keeps my head unaware
That it can't take this much of a tear,
To its core that thinks it so unfair
When trash is thrown outside after a prayer?

If it was up to me i'd swear
That I deserve a little more.
I would try to prove my worth,
And tell you to share what's yours.

Whats so wrong with that, my love?
To give more water to the flower you made.
That wouldn't be a shove,
It would only pull away the weight,
Keeping down the rose parade.
