A Birthday Wish

by Shaikha MB   Dec 28, 2007

Dearest sister,

It was a cold December day,
Just wasting away,
Everyone all happy and gay,
All the sudden the wind howled in such a way,
Right before the night fell,
And the cold crept into a well.

All the trees and leaves shook,
And all the eyes turned to look,
To a sky that could not be told apart from the sea,
For they were both as turquoise as could be.

All together they joined in a dance,
A celebration that made everyone stop to glance.

This was the day god chose to send you to us,
To make you one of us,
To join our lives for better or worse,
Throughout its course.

Yet today,
On your special day,
We have all gathered together in celebration,
After a long duration,
Just to let you know,
That you've brightened our lives,
And helped make us who we are today,
And everyday,
So thank you for being our sister.
